Notes from the TWAS Conference October 21, 2009
Posted by Andrea in : Uncategorized , trackbackHello to you all from sunny Durban! The conference is going well, with lots of fascinating talks. Meeting great people, and enjoying the events. Last night was the formal dinner. The room looked magnificent, and the music was incredible! A Louis Armstrong sound-alike entertained us hugely with his renditions of old classics like ‘It’s a wonderful world’, ‘Mack the Knife’, and ‘Blueberry Hill’. Definite mood booster! Tonight we’re having a ‘Beach Party’ at uShaka Marine World hosted by the Durban municipality. Sure to be a great event!

Pity the conference is ‘by-invitation only’. Not exactly the best way to run a conference IMO.
Deleting comments on blogs (unless they’re spam) is really not on, especially given that this is supposed to be “interactive”. And, also, I appear to be your only actual reader (that’s according to Google Reader stats) and the only person in the SA science blogging community plugging your blog.
If you want a clearing house for news relating to ASSAF, put a feed on your press releases. If this is a blog, don’t delete comments. Srsly.
ummmm… my mistake. It said “no comments – be the first”. Now it appears the comment is back. Oops.
Hi Mr Meadon, I’m glad the comment was still there. We really appreciate the feedback as we’re a new blog – we’re really going to give it a proper launch with the launch of our new website. And thank you for the tip of putting the feed on our media releases – I’ll make a point of it. Thanks again for your comments! I’ll keep an eye on your informative blog as well.
