National Liaison
The National Liaison function of the academy seeks to establish and maintain relationships with national stakeholders, coordinate ASSAf’s government engagement plan, coordinate COHORT activities, coordinate the activities of the Young Scientist Association, liaise with ASSAf Members, coordinate visiting and regional lectures, coordinate ASSAf’s prizes, awards and fellowships, identify national issues that ASSAf needs to release statements on, and coordinate the ASSAf council and Annual General Meetings.

International Liaison
The International Liaison function of the academy establishes and maintains bilateral and multilateral relationships in Africa, diaspora, and the global scientific community. International stakeholders that the academy works closely with include TWAS, ASADI, TWOWS, SADC, IAP, IBSA, IAC, G8+5, STS, NASAC, IAMP, ICSU, NEPAD, and the AU.
